Past Lives & Spirit Guides

Since being a small child I have encountered many psychic and spiritual phenomena. My mother is a Clairvoyant and the ability of foresight has past down the female line for generations. I believe the ability to use our psychic powers is with us from infancy; it can be thwarted by the inability for adults to accept so. However when a small child is allowed to develop these psychic abilities (and this can be helped through simple esp games) the outcome can be simply astonishing.

One of my earliest memories is baking in my Grandmothers' kitchen, when she said my name and asked me to pass the rolling pin I answered 'My name is not Edwina, Its Joan.' She was shocked and the colour had drained from her face. Although I did not know it at the time my Gran had an older sister who died of cancer before I was born, her name was Joan. As I grew my likeness to her was noted by family members and can be seen in photographs.

Have you ever had a strong sense of de'ja`vu when in a certain place or upon meeting a particular person? Maybe you have experienced intensely realistic dreams of another place and era in time? Perhaps in your dreams you have spoken in tongues or experienced becoming another person? If you have experienced any of the aforementioned phenomena then I believe you are remembering from a past life.

It is my belief that each one of us has had numerous Past Lives and that we have many Spirit Guides. Having your human past lives drawn and explained to you gives you a clearer impression of who you are and why certain things occur. It can be a cathartic experience helping to iron out the issues related to your previous incarnations.

My mother is a Clairvoyant and the ability of foresight has past down the female line for generations. I believe the aptitude to use psychic powers is with us from infancy and due to upbringing my abilities have been honed. As a child I enjoyed drawing and always drew detailed pictures of my dreams, of my family but in different locations and periods in time. As I grew older I kept my interest in art and possessing this ability steered me towards an art-based degree. Upon finishing university I was unsure of which direction to take, the logical path was to incorporate both my psychic and artistic skills.

Past life or spirit guide readings are performed through meditation, the images and messages I receive are then translated to paper. When I close my eyes and tune into the sitters psyche vibrations I see shapes and images. These symbols are channelled through to me while I am waiting for the clear image of a face to appear. These opening symbols have a similarity to tealeaf reading i.e. particular symbols have certain meanings. In some respects what I do it is similar to psychometry (the reading a photograph or object) and the contact with the spirit world is akin to medium- ship.

As I continue to meditate my mind clears and I begin to see faces. A similar method is undertaken when I draw a spirit guide as when I draw a past life sketch. Through meditation and contact with the spirit word I am given a visual of a being surrounded by light. I translate the image as best I can to paper for the sitter to see.

Our past lives are key in understanding our present; the lives I tune into come to share experiences with the sitter and also help teach them about their life choices. There isn't usually any particular order or chronology to the period of time the previous lives are from. I believe that the particular incarnations that are shown to me have the greatest need to be seen by the sitter. In the case of previous incarnations there are often strong reflections from one life to another, collectively they usually add up the character of the sitter; if the attributes don't all match then there is a lesson to be learnt from that particular life.

Each one of us has numerous Spirit Guides that help and protect us through life. I introduce the sitter to one of theirs through my psychic drawings in the same way I interpret their past lives. The difference when I see the spirit guide is the clarity of vision, they present as more ethereal than physical. A past life image in my minds eye is like the image of a recent memory and a spirit guide is like a distant one.

In both past life and spirit guide cases I describe the visual I receive, what the person looked like: their colouring, their facial expression, weather they had any distinguishing features such as birthmarks or scars, their clothes and the quality of their costume. I like painting the picture verbally as well as optically. When I have given a clear description of the look of the person, I try to give an account of their personality. I then get messages that are associated with events related to these images and the era they are from.
